Paul,
I just knew that I would find you here "winning souls" for Intel. It's hard work and we (the Intel elders) admire your persistence. Why did AMD slide back down after we were told that they would be heading towards 100?

Keep up the good work,
humble carl

Paul - RE: "I was told "faster than an equivalently clocked Pentium II"."

Yeah, yeah, no one wants to see this written, but on paper the K7 looks superior to anything Intel offers.

I don't know too much about hype surrounding the K6's release so can anyone answer these questions for me. Thanks.

Did the K6 look great on paper compared to Intel's PPro and PMMX?

Did the folks from the Microprocessor Report say anything about the K6 like they have said about the K7, such as something along the lines of -It is better than anything Intel offers. ?

Re: "I was told "faster than an equivalently clocked Pentium II"."

Maxwell claimed it would be "the fastest processor on the planet". Unfortunately he refused to say fastest at doing what? About a week ago Maxwell admitted he got his information "Down by the pool". Probably the same place he got his earnings estimates.
