Found this in Microsoft Central:

Buy the brains of the computer
By building your own portfolio of tech stocks, you may still repeat what you have in an index fund, but you'll have more control over your investments. Where to start? A computer company may seem logical. Yet making computers is a commodity business and there's lots of competition here, with Dell Computer (DELL) emerging as the one to beat. (In fact, if you were going to invest in a computer company, Dell's the one I'd pick.) There are problems, too, with distribution and inventory in the computer business

Compaq and Gateway to report earnings tomorrow.

O.Jerry:

Thanks but since I don't trade Dell (but I have) what you say has no bearing on my Dell holdings one way or the other but I appreciate you looking after the traders.

Now that is settled, you know Compaq and Gateway reports tomorrow right? At least according to Yahoo they will. Don't know if its before, during or after the market but somebody is going to kick-ass within the next day or two,I am telling-ya.
