HRAKA -- in my experience Schwab won't let you short a stock that regularly trades under $5, even if it pops up over $5 for a day or two. That's one reason I opened an account at Datek, which lets you short a stock the second the bid price hits $5 -- their computer seems to be programmed that way. In fact, today IMON went non-marginable when it sunk below $5, then became marginable again when it rose above, and once again became non-marginable when it slipped back down again -- all on the same day.
