When does this year's 401K money start flowing in? I hear 1/25. I get the sense that we really won't know the direction of the market until this money flows in. If people start allocating their investments to money markets and treasuries/bonds, we are in trouble. I follow Barron's Cash Track... anyone else find this useful? Considering that we have low unemployment with rising wages, the money has to go somewhere. And if they are flowing into equities, look out for any stocks belonging to any major index... in addition to large cap funds, index funds appear very popular in light of the fact that most professional money managers can't seem to beat the average market return... is this the reason that the RUT has been lagging? I'm probably being master of the obvious.

Sorry to clutter this board with non-TA talk. I always wonder if MMs and Specialists follow charts and manipulate stock price just to fake investors out. Has anyone noticed where tried and true signals have failed in recent months?
