I wish I had a rumor to share. I don't so I have made up this one:

The reason there as been so much confusion about this deposit is that it is not kimberlite. The diamonds have been found in gold. It was not recognised as gold because the gold was black. Itwas black because it is imprgnated with oil. We have gold, oil, and diamonds.

This is the rumor I made up.
