Ron,

Gold is discipline. Gold is control. And that's all. The current monetary system is devoid of discipline and beyond control. You and I and all our children will eventually pay for these shortcomings, though none of us are in any way responsible. The best thing that could ever happen is for all the world's central banks to sell all their gold in the open market, once and for all. Then, from the goldless ashes of their final collapse, the world could rebuild a rational, controllable monetary system. But this will never happen. The banks doth protest too much vis-a-vis the worth, utility, and importance of gold. The pendulum arcs our way.
