I have not seen any recent figures, but when Iridium launched, many analysts felt that the investment that was made for a small niche market was "overkill". The handsets and per minute charges were substantially out of reach for the average consumer. Hopefully as technology evolves, this association with Sprint will bring costs lower. Many investors still are not aware of PCS and perhaps this will help spread the news.
