I see the naysayers are back. This is probably a good thing. The last time this occurred, I referred to the phenomenon as "carpet bombing" and apparently hurt Gvander's feelings(not!). Anyway, the date was early Nov., if I recall correctly, and VLNC was on the rise. I'm a little surprised to see Gvander's return; I assumed he covered in Dec. and counted himself lucky to get out with his shirt.

What I don't understand is how these shorts know when VLNC is about to rise. The whole point of these periodic attacks is to blunt or restrain an anticipated run up in the stock. Do they use the software programs available for this purpose?

As far as the recent spate of PR from potential competition overseas, the more publicity the better. Judging from the statements made by the Gateway guy in S.D., the big Japanese cos. won't be serious producers until late '99. All in all, reason for optimism.
