Hello Mr. Trocchi:

Portals vs. desktops. I think very possible when (Fed subsidized) internet bandwidth approximates a significant portion of collective PC bandwidth. Meanwhile I would expect an erosive invasion of portal apps into current desktop apps. Internet II, if rolled out on schedule, could make a huge difference--indifference as to where apps, data, and functionality are physically located. A thought provoking article.

Too early to pair MSFT versus a portal such as YHOO. But when YHOO pricing is in line with MSFT, that could prove an interesting combo (short MSFT, long YHOO). Paired trades are somewhat out of favor now because of the enormous runs in individual stocks...but the days for pairs should be returning, as the enormous runs dwindle.
Best regards,
m

Bob, the net centric remote hosting concept is why I am long FSTW. They are a long step ahead of the rest of the market in this area. The market has not recognized this market segment yet, but I believe its time is coming.
