I seem to recall that you did try the drive in one of the early configurations, but what about the variations?

Thanks, now I have a bunch of new combinations to try. I was out of ideas. I do not recall ever trying the drive (I did try the NT boot CD and it did not boot). I assumed since it did not show up in the bios there was no sense trying anything else.

The bios does specifically state IDE harddrive autodetection. But so does the AMI bios..they are similar in many ways..at least outward appearance. The AMI bios recognizes the CDROM as a CDROM in the IDE harddrive autodetection. I drew a parallel that may not be correct.
