Yes, internet Kiosks may be popping up, but from my experience I can tell you that I and my end-users I support would prefer to use their own laptop with their own email client (we use Outlook98) than have to stand at a public Kiosk waiting for someone to get off or scrambling to find quarters to put in especially for those folks who stay in the special airlines Red Carpet lounges. (Doesn't sound attractive at all actually.) Regarding competition from pagers, I unfortunately carry one and yes I get news updates, email messages paged to me, but it's a far cry than being able to respond via a laptop using email. I posted yesterday to figure out why the trading volume was so high and what accounted for bump in share price. And, I'm glad to confirm my intuition that they'll be coming out with faster 128k modem in June/July. I'm based out of SF, and have tested all those places in LA (Burbank, downtown, West LA) while visiting so can tell you that they work! (I'm still waiting for them to get the transmitters setup in Malibu) BTW, we use Ricochet to dial-in into our network rather than just the internet connection which is a real godsend because we don't get charged for the long distance phone call to our dial-in server.
