you misunderstand me. When I say the economy is dependent on the stock mkt, I mean this as an unusual and dangerous situation that is symptomatic of the current mania that the US stock mkt is experiencing. 1987 is no comparison.

Liquidity is always the key to any mkt. what's your point?

You think Easy Al; is going to RAISE rates to increase liquidity in the financial mkts??? what are you smokin? -g- that's about as counterintuitive as it gets. The fact is that the US in is in a financial bubble, the way Al will try and soften the crash back to reality is thru the printing press (as he has always done). Much like Germany of 1930, the US will likely see rampant inflation in a period of worldwide deflation due to Al's reckless behavior and the US financial system's drunken party that it has been having for the past several yrs. The bust fits the boom.
