To Gordf and others, Was happy to find this site on SI. I have also been very surprised to see the persistent weakness in REI.UN, SMU.UN, and HOT.UN. The monthly payments have been going up (at least for for REI and SMU) on a quarterly basis, but prices have been going down. Go figure. My only explanation is (a) that investors with deep pockets are staying away because they fear a recession ... depression ... stock market collapse would demolish real estate prices, and/or (b) the fact that the REITs are now having more trouble issuing new units in this kind of market . What's your view and prognosis for Canadian REITs? TIA, Greg
