What is AMAN? What do they do? The first WEB site selling Gospel musics and books?

Anyone see that the internet bubble has started to burst.
Look at YHOO AMAN, EBAY. All down 50% from peak. Is this
the beginning of a major NASDAQ sell-off. If you get MSFT
below 150, I think it is a good buy.

johnd -- Let me say upfront that I am short MSFT -- for the reasons in your post. I think MSFT is the cream of the cream in many respects, but due for a pullback. I went short after the earnings by the way (with some serious doubts about my own sanity).

I am posting because of what you said about the net stocks. If MSFT is the cream, the nets are something far less tasty. I don't think the markets will be on solid ground until the nets have been given a very ugly beating. That is about half way through happening now. I would be more inclined to reverse my position on MSFT after another week or so when the nets have been taught a lesson -- there is a difference between hype and great companies. The market has lost sight of this for the moment.

Johnd, I have been about 50% cash in my retirement accounts.
Finally bought some shares today (Intel and AT & T ) at the end of
the day. Looking to buy some more MSFT tomorrow. The general
tech sell off is going to create one hell of a buying opportunity.

BTW--NO more options for me.

johnd, are you applying for the job of Resident Thread Bear? The techs are retracing a bit, but it's not the end of the world. I've just given back 2.9% of the 13.1% ytd gain I had on my portfolio on Tuesday. If avoiding volatility was my intention I'd switch my allocation to bonds.

Imho, earnings reports from cpq, csco, aol, and dell will reignite the rocket. In fact, we may well see a ton of money swooping in tomorrow to buy the dip. Liquidity is too good for this market to tank right now.

Good luck in buying on a dip, but maybe today was it <g>.
