Has anyone considered how to report the tax loss on their CSMA shares? I think a good case can be made for simply showing the straight loss on the difference between what was paid originally and what you received for the "shell" shares. My reasoning is that the spin-off shares are unregistered and untradeable with no way to establish a value at this time. At such future time as they become registered and trade, your basis would then be zero in the spin-off shares and any sale of them would be 100% capital gain.

Comments anyone?

RT, I see those Adhatters everywhere also. In Las Vegas, I've seen them in the Wal Marts (7 stores), AutoZone (10 stores), and Checker Auto (15 stores).

To All: The spinoff shares just appeared in my Ameritrade account.
So far, so good.

Best of luck to all patient shareholders.
