Scoop 49r here, Bill. Thx. RE: gov't controlled freedom of the press, you can do what I did:

e*mail a copy to all three local TV affiliates via their websites.
Out here they are be:
www.katu.com (ABC affiliate)
www.koin.com (CBS affiliate)
www.kgw.com (NBC affiliate)

(those 3 letters before .com are the call letters of the individual tv stations out here. would suggest to you and all other SI'ers who care to, that this URL +call letters model would work for their local TV stations as well!)

Since the article was well annotated and copyrighted, their individual newsrooms should be able to snag it internally and then make an "independent" responsible decision.

I know one thing for damn sure...
My e*mail to those 3 stations has certainly caused a huddle in the editor's office of all 3 as they argue whether or not Carville's attempted mayhem on his wife is "newsworthy" or not!

Thank God for the internet...I'm sure gonna miss easy access to same post Y2K!!!

Carry on, Bill! You want to e*mail .cnn.com or shall I?

Quite a scoop...... etc.... etc.

I guess they were more concerned with what seems to be brewing in Hong Kong and China and in Argentina and Brazil and whether our markets will take a turn for the worse.
