KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 22, 1999-- NEWBRIDGE(TSE:NNC) (NYSE:NN.N) Newbridge Networks (NYSE:NN.N; TSE:NNC) Friday announced the appointment of Pearse Flynn as the Company's Executive Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Working from the Company's offices in Maidenhead, Mr. Flynn will lead the sales, marketing and customer service operations for markets throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This appointment marks another important milestone for Newbridge as the Company continues to add high calibre talent to its executive leadership team. Mr. Flynn joins Newbridge from Compaq Computers where he held several executive positions over the past 11 years. Most recently, Mr. Flynn was Vice President, Worldwide Channel Services. He has also held executive positions as Vice President North America Customer Service and Vice President Customer Service, Europe Middle East and Africa. Prior to Compaq Computers, Mr. Flynn was Manager, Production at Wang Labs in Scotland. With degrees in Applied Physics from the University of Cork, Ireland and Digital Systems from the University of Limerick, Ireland, Mr. Flynn brings fundamental strengths in sales and service to the position.
