Red Herring dropped MWY from their model portfolio saying only "...we have liquidated our Midway Games after only one month. We were left entirely dissatisfied by our first shot at speculative investing."

Hmm, hard to read between the lines here, but those guys are very well connected. They must have heard something.

If I had a large position in MWY I would sell most of it. There are better investments short term. The problem with MWY is I just don't hear anything about what they are developing. Financially the company is in good shape. There is no doubt in my mind the company would be worth $20+/share in a buyout. That said there will be little positive news coming from the company in the near future.

What is your opinion of the attractiveness of MWY to another player in their industry?

The game market is increasingly crowded. THQ is a pretty good small cap game maker - but it is pretty fully valued. In fact most stocks in the area are fully valued IMO. It really depends upon who comes up with the 'hits'.

One nice thing attractive (I thought) about MWY is the company is more diversified than a typical PC/console company from its coin-op business.
