Bob, I agree. God has a triune nature...but he is not three persons/
three gods! Yesuha (Jesus) did say he was the "first and the last"=
Jehovah.

The reason I addressed this was the criticism of the Jews on this Y2K thread. I did mean to engage in a study of theology but the
Jews are not receptive to Christians for good reasons--including the trinity doctrine. They would not accept 3 persons.Like the leaders in Christ's times considered his claim to be God blasphemy. (In fairness we probably would have too)! The point is that they were blinded for our sakes. Never-the-less, the Bible identifies them as his chosen people.

I am sensitive to criticism of the Jews..."I will bless those who bless them and curse those who curse them".

The church has used the recent doctrines of "dispensationalism" and "repacement theology" to remove the Jews from the Bible. This is pride and anti-semmitism.There is noBiblical authority for Christians replacing Israel (only the opportunity to join it). The second coming is to save Israel--not the church! Zech. 14 and 15

Likewise there is no Biblical authority for the Christians declaring that God's law is dead! All of the "good guys" in the Bible both testaments- were orthodox Jews/Hebrews. Some of the problem goes to the translators and requires study like:

"And upon the first day of the week..." Acts 20:7 is used to attempt a justification for changing God's holy sabbath to Sunday(the first day of the week)but the quote was DELIBERATELY mistranslated. If you look at the Greek it says.."And on first of the sabbaths..." The word "sabbatton" (spelling incorrect--haven't got my books with me but can get if you desire) is translated as "sabbath" elsewhere but as "week" here.

The same is true of "...as it began to dawn toward the first of the sabbaths (not "day"-was added-of the "week"), came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre." Matt. 28:1 Two sabbaths are here because the Jews count 7 seventh day sabbaths from Firstfruits to
what the New Testament calls Pentacost. Levt. 23:16 and Acts 2:1 The
Jews/Christians were keeping God's Old Testament holy day in "one accord"when the Holy Spirit came. This is deliberately mistranslated. Look at the Greek. For example, see Jay Green's Interlinear Bible.

Bob we are blessed because we have everything available for our own research. We are seeing "the restitution of all things..." Acts 3:21 start. We need to come out of the "great falling away" and to become first century Christians like the law keeping apostles.

James wrote: "...faith, if it hath not works, is dead...I will show
you my faith by my works." James 2:17-18
"...by works a man is justified (set apart), not by faith only..For as the body without spirit is dead,so faith without works is dead also." James 2:24 and 26

John explained: "...SIN IS the transgression of the law (Torah)". 1 John 3:4
"For this IS THE LOVE OF GOD that we keep his commandments..." 1 John 5:3

"Shall we continue in sin (transgressing the law) so that grace may abound? God forbid." Romans 6:1

Who will have the right to enter New Jerusalem..."they that DO his commandments?" Rev. 22:14

"...the saints here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD and the faith of Jesus". Rev. 14:13

The New Covenant takes God's laws off the stone tablets and places his way of life (laws) in our hearts so that we do them by choice out of love. Heb. 8:8-10 and Jerm. 31:31-34 and Ezek. 11:19-20

The advocates of "grace" usually excuse a lawless life style never intended for believers. We are told over and over to be DOERS not just hearers! This limited doctrine has lead to a modern day church without moral values.

You sound like a good God fearing man. Consider this departure from "traditional" Christianity and study with the direction of the Holy Spirit from the Bible only. Toss out "extra Biblical" traditions and doctrines of men. It may challenge some of your beliefs too. (The Bible League only sends out the New Testament! That only reveals a part of the story.)
