Even assuming a direct correlation due to the 20% ownership (and ignoring the myriad respective specifics that otherwise influence these separate companies on a day to day basis), one is still only looking at a 20% correlation. So that if MDIN goes up 20%, NPEC might go up 4%. I think too much is looked for in always trying to coordinate these different companies with different influences and prospects.

FWIW, I am invested in MDIN for a long time, and am considering NPEC for its own merits.
