Jon call Mr Tilton.1 212 398-7833..He received a call from a brokerage asking for shares I was told. There is another way they short as well and its illegal but sometimes they borrow shares that dont exist. It's called a naked short and as long as they find the shares before end of month when they take inventory they can usually get away with it. A lot of stocks get into what they call a short squeeze due to this and at end of month the stock runs up and the shorter has to pay for the mistake by buying the shares at higher price because he was unable to cover the naked short at what he was hoping would be a lower price.
