I don't know the magazines you read or the programs you watch, so I cannot comment on the impression left on you that Reagan has faded from memory. A propos of that, though, let me tell you a story. When I was a teenager, in the 70's, I was surprised to discover that a friend of mine was a big Elvis fan, since I considered Elvis washed up, so I chalked it off to eccentricity. A few years later he died, and I discovered that off my radar screen there was a whole universe of Elvis fans, and that the galvanizing effect of his demise was soon to make them unignorable. Moral: Don't be so sure that you know what is happening out of your range of vision.

Disagree. Reagan is a giant compared to Clinton and will appear so in the history books. Admiral Pointdexter exonerated Reagan on Iran/Contra and that "scandal" did not tarnish the Presidency as an institution as Clinton's has. Reagan also cooperated with the investigation and there was no vilification of the IC by the Reagan WH as we have seen with the Clinton WH. Clinton just doesn't compare favorably in any respect. JLA
