But let's keep these sales in perspective. Best I can calculate, from Yahoo, Mr. Dell sold 12.841 million shares since 9/24/98. According to Thomson Research, Mr. Dell held 192.621 million shares on 9/24/98.

So, Mr. Dell sold 6.6% of his holdings, not counting any options they may have vested in the mean time, and added to his holdings. Thats like you and me selling 66 shares of a 1000 share holding. And he still owns about 14% of the company.

These sales, IMO, are not significant.

Another interesting tidbit, Mr. Gates, as of 8/20/98, held 515.8 million shares of MSFT. So, after the next split, Mr. Bill will own over 1 billion shares.
