Ten,

Yet I feel that he is rather temperamental in his opinions and predictions for the industry.

The rise and fall of Intel's competitors is based largely on chaotic events no one can predict. How long will it take to find a speedpath or bug? Will an Asian resin factory have a fire?

Intel has had the luxury of vast resources and outstanding manufacturing, which allowed them the ability to take a conservative approach to architecture and design. How much longer will this last?

This is a dynamic business, and it is not surprising that those following it are forced to change their opinions frequently.
