Thats what Dell has done and what Amazon is trying to do. Im not saying Amzn
will succeed, I just dont know. But, if you automate your distribution cycle better than
everybody else, then by definition you can sell your products cheaper than everybody
else, that is the objective - not a simple online catalog of books and a website.

DELL and AMZN are very different in how distribution must be handled. I ask you to go look at some of my more in depth posts from last summer and early fall if you have time and care to make the effort.You have hit the nail squarely on the head but the hardware that is needed for fully automated distribution with this many different components has not yet been developed. This is to the best of my knowledge.

I understand your point and agree 100%.

you value a money losing venture at $10-15 billion and call it a buy when you aren't sure they'll succeed. las vegas must just love you b/c you have one heck of a handicapping strategy...
