Paul -- <<What's a trader to do?>> Play the trend. You guessed it, the trend is down.

If you can't predict what you think the market or more precisely your stocks are likely to do, then you should lock your money in a drawer and forget about investing, IMO. Most people think the market will go up so they want to participate. But there are many levels of investors, from casual investors to people who spend their entire careers trying to be "experts" at it. Obviously some people can gain the knowledge to be better at it than others. It's good to remember that the market itself doesn't create wealth but only is a vesle to retain what people think commerce (businesses) is worth.

If there is no way to do better than market averages or predict the future trends in the market or stocks, then why not just give your money to a diverse portfolio of mutual funds. I guess it won't mater which ones you choose because it realy doesn't matter who runs them or what stocks they pick or when they invest or pull back - they will all do the same since no one is able to figure anything out.

Here's some more prediction of what I think will happen with this nutty stock: AMZN will bounce around a day or two but will rebound 20 points or more to around 230-240 before running out of steam. I can't know what junk management will say during the cc that might cause speculators to lob more money onto the stock, but I don't think it will be anything that will prevent Amazon from continuing the broader trend down. On the rebound move, investors will get nervous quickly and the stock will fail to test near the previous highs. I don't think it will move past 240 but I would be foolish to rule that out completely. I'm not short AMZN now and will wait for the next opportunity for the odds to look favorable. For a 3 month or longer time frame, it's not a bad time to sell the stock or short it.
