I bought a VCR years ago. Then I heard about all the advantages some of the other VCR's offered. As far as I was concerned, I had made my purchase and I was not going to buy another VCR until that VCR broke. So, I never became a buyer of the superior product. Taking that one step further. Do you think the people who went out and bought a 40 inch TV because it was big is going to go out and buy 60 inch TV because it is bigger? The answer is very probably not. The one that got to the market first is the one that gets the sale.

All Lucent has to do is tell the market that it is coming out with a player and the people will wait to see what they have before they make their buying decisions. They could at least show a picture of what the product would look like. Now, as far as I know, Lucent has only told the market that it has a superior compression algorithm.

Attacking the messenger? Until there is a product, we have no proof that there is a MicroOS. We will probably have to wait at least another 6 months to hear from the Patent Office. And we will only hear about the patent if it is granted. If it is rejected, we may never know. In the meantime, I wait..... and wonder what the hell are they doing?

MicroOS has existed for about a year. Intel, SanDisk, nor Lucent have exclusive rights to its use. If MicroOS is so damn good, why isn't it featured an any of these player? MicroOS is not PAC dependent.
