[TI envisions a range of applications for the Butterfly technology. Using the RF technology and its DSP chips as well as analog ICs, TI said it will provide seamless wireless connectivity for a range of devices, including laptop computers, short-distance connections for cellular phones, and home automation.

One application could be a digital camera system that can send
images and "electronic post cards" over a cellular phone, which would be connected to the Internet.
