I received an email from my friend BB who has concern that I will lose my investment in TMSR, and I told him I would not as I would only short TMSR at this price level.

Here is part of the email that quoted an angry customer's post on newsgroup, I did not verify the information by myself and I have a current short position on this company, make your own judgement.

"Yes, Thrustmaster are cheating us. I finally got a guy in their technical
dept to admit that all their FF wheels are faulty but they are looking at
making new ones. One week after xmas they had 800 wheels returned here in
the Uk out of 2000 that went to stores. THAT MUST SAY SOMETHING ABOUT TM FF
WHEELS AT THE MOMENT. From what I have read between the lines they were in a
hurry about getting them to stores in time for xmas and never tested them.
Heat breaking down the bushes was the problem in 3 of their wheels that I
have opened and when u see the inside of them everyone will understand that
they will never withstand the pressure of the motor that TM uses. Hope this
can be of use to people as i have been given the run around for a while by
TM."

I have to say that press release cracked me up.

They got some company to put a flyer in their box, and issue a press release about it???

When I was a product manager in software, companies paid us all the time to stuff their flyers and promos in our boxes; it's routine. If I had called PR and asked to have a press release issued about one of them, I would have been laughed out of the room!!

Validating Talk n' Play?:"Real time voice is the next big thing"

"...You know what? The more I write about the state of online gaming in this fine medium we call the Internet the more I feel as though we're missing something important. No matter how you slice it, there's still something strangely empty about online gaming. It seems as though the social aspect hasn't taken hold as much as it should. And that lack of sociality seems to have hurt the sense of community that was once expected to be the "killer app" of online gaming.

Large-scale online RPGs such as Ultima Online might support text for large group communications and voice for smaller parties such as this Think about it. First-person shooters such as Quake and Unreal are a helluva lot of fun to play competitively, but communication is sadly limited to short, poorly-typed messages sent in the heat of battle while being fragged. Large-scale online RPGs such as Ultima Online are far more suited to conversation, but even then you have the problem of trying to comprehend lines of multi-colored text cluttering up the screen, not to mention the relatively slow speed of typing to communicate, versus just saying it. In the end, I feel disenfranchised, and not at all as involved as I once did. Obviously, something's changed for me… and after thinking on it for a while, I realized what it was: real-time voice communication… or the lack thereof..."
