Another DBCC or MALL..From Briefing.com.." MODEM MEDIA.POPPE TYSON INC (MMPT): Bringing a successful Internet deal to market is about 85% timing and 15% fundamentals. Very rarely does the IPO pipeline produce an Internet offering that doesn't depend almost entirely on a speculative bubble to float the stock. Interactive advertising agency, Modem Media.Poppe Tyson, will break a period of almost six months of sub-par Internet initial public offerings. The Westport, CT-based company provides marketing programs delivered over the Internet and other electronic media that facilitate two-way communication between the company's clients and their customers. AT&T and Citibank are Modem Media.Poppe Tyson's two biggest customers, accounting for 20.4% and 12% of total revenues for the nine months ended Sept. 30. The prominence of the deal is reflected in a top-shelf underwriting syndicate, made up of BancBoston Robertson Stephens, Nationsbanc Montogomery Securities and Bear Stearns. The deal is scheduled to price between the last week of January and the first week of February, at $11 to $13 a share. Global advertising and communications company, True North Communications (TNO 28 5/8 +7/8), currently owns 5.649 million shares of the company's Class B common stock. At the conclusion of the offering, TNO will hold an 84.9% stake in the company. Based on the current offering range and the number of TNO shares outstanding, TNO's position in Modem Media.Poppe Tyson is worth approximately $1.50 per TNO share (pre-tax). True North shares have appreciated 2.57 points or 10% since Modem Media.Poppe Tyson first filed to come public. "
