OTOT
<<< Biggs reportedly said during a speech in Japan that the "Internet bubble is close to its end." That was enough to send some traders to the closest exit from the information superhighway today.>>
The British said the world was running out of coal( in 1800's), the Navy said an airplane could not sink a battleship( in 1930's)
the oil companies said the world was running out of oil( in 1970's), the politicians said the national debt was out of control( in 1992).
Who is Biggs? A prophet?
Will be very interesting to hear from Loius Rukeyser tomorrow
on the subject of Web stocks.
M.S.Dean Witter is on a big push to adjust customers portfolios
for the new year. Like, "think diversification, funds, safety".

Zead, you are comparing apples and horses. Kumar predicted in December that GTW will come in at .72 and it came in at .81. That is extremely specific and he was dead wrong.

re: Barton Biggs....
Dont let short term memory slip. Just two weeks ago Biggs #1 global stock play was to short large cap blue chips.???????

We will see blood in the streets today. That doesnt make Biggs correct. Will blue chip go down. Yes. Historically late January is a moderate dip in the market.

Big money is on the sidelines that wont come in until a large dip occurs. Here it is.

I was up a 4 bagger on a one day options play on MSFT. Got greedy and didnt sell. All profit has evaporated. Do you feel my pain?
