How much is a SCSI card?
What do people think about the mice on G3?

The scsi cards are $50 @ the Apple Store. They are mfg. by Adaptec.
These cards are to be used for "connectability" only. My understanding
is that you can't boot from an external drive with these. According to
info @ Adaptec's site they will be offering a $150 card that will be bootable.
The Apple store makes no mention of this "little" shortcoming. Pretty annoying
actually.

I am wondering if you can boot form the internal Zip drive that is offered with
the G3s.

In general I don't like mice. From my point of view it is no better or worse than a
teardrop mouse. My kids like it though . They bought for me a Macally iBall (trackball) for $49.95
for Christmas. I saw one listed for $29.95 in a catalogue yesterday. I think that it is a dog and
can see why the price is dropping.
The hockey puck mouse is OK because I suspect that most people who would by a G3 will probaly
have developed preferences for all sorts of aftermarket products anyway and probaly would replace
the mouse no matter what it looked like. So aapl only has one mouse to worry about.

An interesting sidebar to a USB mouse is that it should work with PC's USB connection especially
laptops. I may give mine to my brother-in-law who doesn't like the button pointer on his
new IBM laptop. I think that this may generate some interesing comments.

aapl seems to be to have ranged down and then back up over a point as I typed this.
