In a 13-G filed by Salomon Smith Barney, et.al. it is indicated that their joint holdings were at 13,396,146 (11.9% of the company) as of 12/31/98.

Their 13-G for 9/30/98 indicated at total of 15,356,817 (13.6% of the company).

While this is 2MM shares less, it still indicates a major investment in ABACF as of the report date.

I guess someone other than just us "Little Guys" thinks there is something worth holding here.
