Well SAFtylatch works great! It's really easy to install and to use. After installing the software, it asks you if your ready to enroll. You speak the phrase "My Voice Is My Password" three times and it makes a voiceprint from it. Then you can take any of your folders and change them into a SAF folder by just clicking on the right mouse button and selecting "SAFTylatch Encrypt." Now whenever you are logged in to SAFtylatch on that computer, those files are available. If you log out, they immediately get encrypted again. There is no delay in access to the folders and no hit on performance of the machine. It is very well integrated into the Windows environment. When you turn on your machine, SAFtylatch "asks" you to log in. When you're verified, it "says": "SAFtylatch is opened" or something like that. I only have some small critiques 1. The interface could be a little more visually pleasing. There's alot of extra text to help you get started. Once you're enrolled and get used to using it, there should be a smaller and simpler log in window. 2. Your SAF folders have a different icon and it changes depending on whether or not your logged in to SAFtylatch. Windows can have problems keeping the icons looking right. 3. You use the same pass phrase everytime so the system is open to recorded attack. Not such a big deal for this application but worth mentioning. The doublet approach used by Speaker Key is more secure, but I guess not really necessary here. 4. It comes with a microphone which is a bonus, though on my Notebook Computer the microphone is built in. My microphone picks up noise from my hard drive making difficult to authenticate sometimes. I figured out how to overcome this by getting closer to the microphone. It was actually able to authenticate me while there was plenty of background noise (We were watching "Friends" while I was playing with it) as long as you spoke close to the microphone. Overall I think its a great product and there will be a great market for it. Somehow they have to overcome the feeling of "novelty" and make you feel like you really need it. The right scare tactics, or should I say marketing, could do the trick. -David
