Secondly, the Soviet economy could not keep up with our economy.
The Soviet economy was based on HUGE industrial plants. The dawn of the information age killed them. I do credit Reagan for pushing them over the edge a bit faster than would have happened otherwise, but Reagan, like Clinton, was lucky to be President at a key time.

TP (Who thinks the Beatles and Woodstock had a lot to do with ending the Soviet Union. Afganistan was the final straw.)
