A new lead story has just been published to the Novell web site: "Industry Rallies Around Novell Directory Services." You can read the entire article by visiting novell.com

More than two hundred technology companies from 24 countries attended the Novell Global Partner Summit this week to support and discuss partnership strategies for Novell Directory Services, the world's leading cross-platform directory technology for managing the complexity of today's networks. IBM and Lucent Technologies took the opportunity to announce expanded integration of NDS with their products.

Read the article to learn all about how top industry analysts and Novell partners are throwing their weight behind Novell's directory.

It seems with news like this, why even consider a take-over by IBM or others, when fund managers would provide a much nicer price appreciation for Novell. Of course I may think differently if/when NOVL is trading in the $30-35 dollar price range. The sooner it gets there, the better!

Regards,

QuadK

If Noorda's rep on the board wanted to sell and the institutions liked the buyer and the price, Novell would probably be sold even if the management preferred not to sell. I doubt if IBM would make an unwelcome offer, that does not seem like Gerstner's style. The buyout that has the greatest synergy benefits would probably get approved. It will be our pleasure to watch this year, since most of us are so enthused about the company either way.
