Message 6921559 In the Jan 25, 1999 US News and World Report (the same one that SI Threader Dennis Patterson is featured), Page 71...select excerpts: "Oh, what a tangled Web Scam" In the past year, over 60 people have complained to the Federal Trade Commission of charges on credit card bills for Internet services they never used - some victims don't evven own a computer.....Now the FTC is fighting back, suing several companies......for alleged fraud and seeking redress for victims...........The FTC does not think the credit card numbers were obtained over the internet or from carelessly chucked receipts.....oops, that last part might exclude me...
