Your memory is very faulty. There was no unusual acceleration of real estate prices, and the real estate market began to stagnate around 90. Total compensation, including benefits, went up for the vast majority, and inflation fell. Interest rates plummeted. Job creation was robust. And the rash of "predatory" take-overs left industry stronger.
