El: Don't sell yourself short - you've been pretty prescient lately. If Compaq's "big plans" have hit a speed bump, the market doesn't seem overly concerned about it - at least not at this point. K PS: Here's a few more nominees for the Darwin Award ... International Intrigue (AutoWeek 1/25/99) Perhaps you heard the one about the guy in Kiev, Ukraine who bought 50 beepers for all his employees, then was driving home from the store when all 50 started beeping at once, causing him to wrap his car around a lamp post. The message? Same on all 50 units: "Congratulations on your new purchase." Or the German couple, out for a nighttime drive near Berlin in their 7 Series, who followed the car's navigation system right into the Havel River? The driver was expecting a bridge that wasn't there because the nav system didn't tell him it was a ferry crossing.
