Hmm. >> MT. VERNON, N.Y., Jan 22 (Reuters) - Home decorations maker Interiors, Inc. said Friday it has entered into a marketing agreement with Internet book seller Amazon.com to sell and advertise its products. Amazon.com will use its extensive advertising campaign and e-commerce marketing know-how to reach major Web services and search engines to attract consumers to Interiors' line of more than 5,000 coordinated decorative accessories. This marketing alliance will enable consumers to purchase many Interiors products directly from Amazon.com, as well as through the company's Interiors.com Web site. Interiors.com will prominently display the Amazon logo, and will make accessible to consumers for direct purchase, interior design and related books that are available from Amazon.com. Interiors said the strategic alliance will help it capitalize on the dynamic emergence of e-commerce, which by industry estimates grew to more than $13 billion during 1998. "Amazon has practically single-handedly developed e-commerce from a mere vision, and has introduced numerous marketing innovations that have attracted more and more consumers to acquire goods and services in this fashion," said Max Munn, President and CEO of Interiors. "Amazon.com will introduce its customers to our large selection of co-ordinate, and designed home decorating accessories. Likewise, our customers will have easy access to the purchase of interior design books and related products that only a leader such as Amazon.com can provide." 07:25 01-22-99 <<
