I'll give you 1/2 of that strong economy if you give
me the other half belonged to the Reagan
and Bush groundwork for fixing the tax
codes

I will grant that Reagan broke the psychology of malaise that J.Carter promoted. When Reagan began I thought Japan was unstoppable and my wife and I seriously checked to see if there were day cares that would help our children learn Japaneese.

I think the supply side approach was wrong and nearly wrecked the economy. It was a borrow and spend bubble economy (and I don't blame it on a democratic congress, it wouldn't have worked anyway). The shakeup did disrupt entrenched ideas so that new things could be tried. Reagan got his butt pulled out of the fire by Bush's no new taxes tax.

Furthermore, much of this economy has been driven by the computer revolution
Of course Clinton is lucky to be President at the right time. I give him credit for not screwing it up. He could have easily tried to steer the economy to saving jobs in steel mills or textile plants. He could have ignored world trade and maybe saved democratic control of congress in the process. Instead he took the economy into the future.
