No more than vacuum tube manufacturers were screwed by transistors. Despite what you and I think, there's enough people out there (for now) who think that holding financial assets is more sensible that holding metals. It's their right (assuming they're "free"). No one, that I know of, has a moral obligation to convert their capital into gold just to sustain the livelihoods of miners and their shareholders.

These people, and I include myself and it sounds like you, too, have been dealt a tough hand. No one wants what we got right now. But just because the world doesn't want what we got right now doesn't give us the right to say to the world, "You have to want what we have because we have lives and we need money and you're greedy and manipulative if you don't."
