If AT&T Worldnet goes to ATHM, that makes ATHM the ISP for those
dial-up subscribers. ATHM has lots of content currently
meant for broadband users (the CD-quality sound, great video
"channels", etc).

It would seem to me that ATHM should use this ability to
provide a broadband experience to keep those Worldnet customers
and give them a better online experience. This could be done
by getting Worldnet customers from areas NOT served by ATHM's
cable partners to upgrade to DSL (yeah, I know people don't like
that word here). ATHM would have more users of its broadband "portal", and a larger "mindshare". More broadband viewers = more
advertising dollars, etc. Since it would not compete w/
ATHM's cable internet service (due to geographic location of
those Worldnet customers) this would seem a great use of the
broadband content that ATHM already provides.
