<<massive reward to manipulators>>

Again, I don't think someone who takes a position that runs counter to your own, or my own, is a manipulator. They bet the right way. (for now) The last thing I want is MORE power for regulators to TAKE away rewards of any participant in the market place. Should they prevent the eventual massive profits to the opposing "long term investors" when their investments become a monopoly? 3 producers (your words) do not make a monopoly, first of all. And as a long term investor my response has to be, "HELL NO!"

I don't know your situation right now, but indulge me for a moment if you will....

18 months from now, the Dow has gone to hell. The S&P is at 400 and gold is at $700/oz. (Hey, indulge me, ok?) You and I have made a BUTT-LOAD of money on our stocks and/or bullion. Now along comes some group of people who've been plowing money into index funds hand over fist for the past 5 years. What are they gonna say? Bet it goes something like this.

"It ain't right that Mr's Martin & Harmon have made ALL of that money. They made their money by betting AGAINST our system which isn't even patriotic. (Some dirtbag actually questioned my patriotism ... once.) And our portfolio's, that we need to retire our, are decimated because of the likes of them. Someone's gotta MAKE THEM PAY."

I don't wanna be on the receiving end of that. Do you?
