Waiting for AtHome and a nice fat cable pipe to the net is a dandy idea.

Depending on how long it takes, I may use xDSL via US Worst (not a typo) until TCOMA/ATHM is ready to go. I still have some issues with cable - the fact that everyone in your local area is sharing bandwidth, and thus you are subject to possible bottlenecks and high-usage times. Have to see the cost/speed/security comparison.

Speaking of TCI coverage, what is the geographical footprint of TCI?
That is, what areas does it serve with cable, and what are the
subsidiaries? (Sorry, I'm just naive).

WorldNet is a distant second to AOL only in terms of number of users. Almost
every ISP I've ever seen is far better than AOL in terms of quality.

I agree. I used to be on AT&T, swithed to AOL, switching back soon.
Once you get used to a normal ISP, it is hard to work with AOL.
I have to say AOL is pretty good with sign on speed and rare busy
signals. The customized Internet Explorer they use---sucks in my
opinion. If they had used the standard version of IE just like AT&T,
I would give them good marks. Every other ISP I have used is
more user friendly.

BTW--AT&T took over MSN Internet Access in Canada which probably
caused temporary sign on problems----I just got impatient. I am
told they are now pretty good again.
