Giggles and Groans

It was snowing for the 14th day. Once again school was canceled. Outside the sounds of children and parents could be heard. Children playing in the snow, snowball fights, building snowmen and sledding. Parents working to clear off the cars, driveways and sidewalks. The children giggled and the parents groaned.

Capitalism gone to heaven.

If life possessed any sense of wonder, then he reasoned, most people lived without it. Homogeneous features of Americans meandering through a newly opened mall; strolling along as if stultified by all there was to consume. He'd seen more profound looks on a dog's face perusing an evening's moonlight.
