Stocks I would not worry about holding thru the weekend at this point If the NASDAQ gets ugly and I don't expect it to, I would take another look: AFWY, MSPG,GNET,ITWO,PVSW,OTEXF,ITN,LGTO,GTW,CMGI,

Mildly concerned: USWB, BVSN,NTBK,YHOO,ABOV,MXTR, PVN (valuation a bit and profit taking should be the main concerns for the swing trader but for the position or short term trader I'd be less concerned in the second group as well and tend to hold on)

Stocks I would not hold: There is no stock that either I own or on my watch list that I feel is a definite risk to the point I'd sell. I think this is a healthy correction and the problems in Latin America, although a factor can not cloud the fact that the economy is very healthy earnings for the most part are fine.. Remember when the problems of Japan began the market took a dive only to have one of the most spectacular (October/November) recoveries I can recall. (of course I've only been doing this for 5 years or so, so I wasn't 'around' in 1987 or 1929 )

If you are concerned you could close some profitable positions to be safe (selling at the high) but I would never run with the herd and get caught up in selloff selling at the low and buying at the high. I'd rather play out my current strategy of buying back the 'nets at their lowest and holding on for the bounceback next week. I've watched all kinds of strategies with buy limits, gap strategies but the best strategies for the internets is to hold overnight for the gap up and not chase the gap ups when you are not in the stock. It's difficult, doesn't always work and you end up chasing the stock all day instead of neatly selling and/or holding for more gains.

From personal experience the downside risk is less when you hold.. I've lost about 5-6 points on stocks like VRSN, CMGI and GNET by holding but the gains offset those losses 5 to 1.

GCTI, LGTO.. both triggered buy signals today. Here is another stock strategy you should pay close attention to. Both LGTO and GCTI had pre-earnings runups. GCTI's was especially strong.. Both LGTO and GCTI sold off the day of athe report and both had beaten the earnings estimates. Now both are in the same 'rebound' phase as selling pressure wore off. .. I will add this theory in more detail onto the education portion of marketgems.com list of strategies.
