<<Destruction of the people's confidence in Fiat money, to be replaced
or shared by confidence in your shiny metal as currency.>>

If the people's confidence in fiat money is misplaced, then it is only right and MORAL that it be replaced with confidence in something ELSE. Gold, I'll be the first concede, is not a perfect alternative. But it's a GOOD alternative.

<<Your "means" involve a drastic, perhaps disastrous, assault on people's net worth as the money they make will be devastated in the devaluations you create in a wild gold price upsurge. Your "means" include massive debt defaults, depressionary unemployment, and the absolute destruction of people's "inalienable right to the pursuit of happiness".>>

A gold price upsurge will not be the CAUSE of massive debt default, depressionary unemployment, destruction of anyone's rights, wiped out equity and bond prices, teenage pregnancy, the NBA lockout, cancer in laboratory rats, or stale beer. It will be a consequence.

<<What would be the result on the price of gold?? $500?? $800?? $1,000??>>

Hey, I can always hope. :)

You have not read(or perhaps should I say understood)anything I said, I expect gold to move up as population increases! I do not wish
or promote "TEOTWAWKI", as these reduce rather than increase population.

Read what I say, not what you want to hear.!.
