U.S. Stocks Drop as Profit Outlook Dims, Led by IBM on Earnings Shortfall...Compounding the problem was a decline in sales of IBM's servers, including the AS/400 and RS/6000 machines. IBM said customers are waiting for new models, due out in the first half of the year...Morgan Stanley Dean Witter's Thomas Kraemer downgraded IBM to ''outperform'' from ''strong buy.'' ''While we still think that IBM is a growth engine, it looks more like a four cylinder than a V8,'' Kraemer said in his report. bloomberg.com
