Buying on the rumor selling on the news: Sorry for not getting back more more timely, but I had a hour long conference call long distance that I didn't anticipate.. One good thing that came out of the call was that I don't have to fly to Houston because there is something called "video conferencing' (where have I heard of that before ;-)) and I'll be having a 3 hour conference call instead and that will be on Friday morning. I was staunchly against holding YHOO through earnings, but it was a great pre-earnings trade.. same with AMZN and some others.. But internet stocks are notorious for running up amazingly before earnings and selling off right afterwards. I'm often surprised at how many traders don't realize this. Of course there are stocks like NTBK, BVSN that could do better through earnings but they are the ones that are coming out of a down quarter into their first positive quarter (i.e. remember GNET the day I called it, it was 38 with only a 4 point gap up and consequently it doubled) So I do think that most of MSPG's acceleration will be completed BEFORE earnings come out and I agree with you there. I also held MSPG when it was 40 and that is why I did not enter a postion in CREE for the reason that I had it when it was a 'toddler' at 10 and it went up to 50. And if you look at POWI today, it was way up for 2 straight days but you had to be wearing blinders not to sell it before today.
